Adventures in Etsy Banner Design: Sapphire Rose Designs

As you’ve probably noticed, sniffing around my blog for even a few seconds, I’m all about making things by hand, and supporting my friends and fellow crafters/artisans/designers/artists to make beautiful things and keep pumping the DIY spirit into the marketplace.

So when my friend Amy told me that she was opening up an Etsy shop to sell her adorable headpieces, I was pretty excited.

Amy is based out of Orange County, and is totally a Southern California girl. Super beachy, with a bright and sunny personality that totally shines through with her designs.

When Amy asked me to design her Etsy shop banner, I was really excited to help. All she asked was that I include a sapphire rose, and for the design to have a retro, feminine feel. After a handful of mockups (and playing around with design/type styles from different eras) I feel like Amy made a great choice. The banner has a dainty and classic feel, with a tad of maturity but the fun font and bright colors bring it to life and make it a little more youthful.
