It’s a lovely day for a picnic!

It wasn’t really a lovely day for a picnic at all… I just like quoting Little Women as much as I possibly can. Anyway! I have the kind of fun task of designing the t-shirt for our annual company picnic. We’re doing a one color print on a Kelly green shirt. Not my usual task, but it is a challenge I have accepted and I hope I can pretend to be an illustrator and do my best. In the meantime, I’ve been looking at pretty picnicing pictures for inspiration (even though the shirts will look nothing like these). Enjoy!

A Bit Homesick

The lights of Highway 18

This past week in San Francisco has been a warm one… well, we had 3 days of highs in the 80s. Today we’re back to the 60s, but during those days of blissful heat, I really started to miss my hometown and my fam.

So! Homeward bound I must go! I decided to fly down mid-September, which oddly enough is the same time I moved to SF last year. Anyway, I’m excited to see my fam, Bri & Richard and to just feel the dry hot hot heat of the desert… basically, get my fix and promptly return to my naturally air-conditioned city.

Thursday Inspiration: Paper Magazine, Spring 2010 Issue

A few months ago on my little stroll to work from the bus I saw the Spring Issue of Paper Magazine laying on the ground. It was in perfect shape, and I’ve always been a fan, so it became MINE.

Curiouser and curiouser!


As you can see from this quickie collage I threw together, Chandra and Andy’s wedding was beautiful, well-planned, and left room for us to get a little crazy (especially on the dance floor – please note the comfy shoes I changed into, photographed above). It was a great weekend and a day we’ll never forget.

I haven’t been back to Southern California to visit my family and hometown since the holidays, so a few friends and I decided to drive down road trip-style last weekend. We left good ole’ San Francisco Thursday evening and got to our respective hometowns at a semi-respectable hour. read more »
