Pomona Fox Theater
301 South Garey Avenue Pomona, CA 91766
7:00pm – Midnight 18 and over
Admission: 36 empty cans of Squirt until capacity is reached
If you ain’t got no money, take yo broke ass home… OR, find yourself 36 empty cans of Squirt and hitch a ride to the Fox Theater in Pomona. Never heard of the Fox Theater? Neither have I! When I first received the email for this event, I thought they REALLY meant that it was taking place at The Glasshouse. Wrong.

I saw Girl Talk last month at the Grove of Anaheim… it was beyond amazing. I seriously danced until I couldn’t dance no mo’, but I kept dancing anyway. It was like my feet had a mind of their own. I was super hot, shweaty and dehydrated; but none of that mattered because Girl Talk was playing my song, and my other song, and OH THAT’S MY SONG TOO! That’s what his shows are like. Imagine the best dance party you’ve ever been to and multiply the fun factor by 10.

If you’re worried that I’ve hyped Girl Talk way too much… stop worrying. If and when you see him live, expect to 1.) sweat, 2.) experience the sweat of others, 3.) have a large inflatable device thrown in your direction, 3.) sing your lungs out, 4.) laugh, 5.) and dance like a jerk, jerk, jerk.
Have fun!

The sewing and quilting experts, that is. OMG. I can’t even begin to express to you how excited I am about this festival.
So, Sunday afternoon I moseyed over to my favorite fabric store of all time (M&L Fabrics in Anaheim) with my friend Hava. As she was paying for her fabric, a bright pink flyer caught my eye. The flyer was advertising none other than…
The Quilt, Craft and Sewing Festival

Pomona Fairplex
101 W McKinley Ave
Pomona, CA 91768

October 18-20, 2007
Thurs.-Sat., 10am-5pm
How much?
$8, but $7 with coupon …one time admission good for all 3 days of the show, so save your ticket!
I STILL don’t get it.
This festival will consist of exhibitors who will fill us all in on the latest and greatest supplies in the quilting/sewing/crafting world. In addition, “Make and Take” workshops and free educational seminars will be available. I’m a beginner when it comes to quilting, so I think this will be a great opportunity to see quilters in action and get some tips from people who have been doing this stuff for years (probably even before I was born… maybe even before my mom was born). Anyway, it’s hard to learn how to quilt by reading about it. So go check out the festival and learn some quilting tips that will impress your grandma like whoa.
